I am attaching my draft Capstone project for review. In my presentation, I explore The Role of Music in Regulating Emotions in Musical Theatre. I open with an interactive poll for my intended audience of Arts educators, curriculum leaders, administrators, and policy holders. Then, I discuss a bit of the science behind our brain on music and Flow theory. This ties into some statistics and research on music and wellbeing. I present the reasons for why schools should continue to, or begin offering musical theatre programming. Finally, I leave my audience with some additional resources and takeaways.
This project is still a work in progress and I would like to continue adding research to some of my slides. I intend to include research from John Dewey and tie in his philosophies for Education. Please let me know if you have any words of advice on what more I could include for my intended audience.
