Honour Specialist Music
January - April 2025
This course supports and equips music educators for leadership roles in their departments and schools. The benefits and challenges of a music education program are analyzed with a focus on barrier-free learning for all. Curriculum and theory are explored through an antiracist and anti-oppressive lens. The importance of Indigenous perspectives, culturally relevant pedagogy, and anti-racist practices are embedded throughout all tasks in relation to music education. Ways in which to incorporate the fundamentals of music with a view to 21st century competencies are explored.
