I am attaching a photo of these flowers, (Phalaenopsis orchids, Dendrobium orchids, and the Concord Blue Streptocarpus Saxorum) that I received from a colleague. To preserve these flowers, I dried the petals and pressed them in a frame. This image inspires creativity because gardening was a new hobby that I picked up once I acquired my own classroom. Taking care of plants was never a forte of mine until students started gifting them to me and I realized I had to do everything in my power to keep them alive. Within the past year, I have really come to learn a lot about it. Gardening has also been a way for me to make connections with the people that work at my school. My students have greatly enjoyed watching the plants grow and it is often a topic of discussion for classroom visitors.

Orchids and Ella from C.
This is my second last course in the PME program and the last of the three for my Classroom Specialist concentration. I have appreciated how many of my course learnings are intertwined with one another. As an Arts educator, creativity is naturally embedded into my curriculum, pedagogy, and learning. I hope to learn about strategies to get out of a creative rut and if there are any best practices for managing time to be intentionally creative.
