The link I am sharing that explores the Arts Commons case study further, are methods for how to incorporate the Arts into the curriculum, and why this matters for refugee children. Barber (2022) states that the expressive arts can provide a sense of safety and belonging. The original case study video focused on dance and how movement invites emotional regulation. This article explores other Arts forms such as visual art and using self-portraits to explore identity, creative writing, and poetry which encourages reflection, resilience, and coping with trauma. It includes curriculum ideas for play therapy and art therapy techniques as well (Barber, 2022).
